Colorado Action Coalition

The National Academy of Medicine has released the recommendations in the Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity.

The Recommendations are published by the Committee on the Future of Nursing, part of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAM). NAM conducts a large study each decade with the intention of mapping the path for the future of nursing. The recommendations are meant to strengthen nursing capacity and expertise and is the evidence-based solution to achieve health equity in the United States.

The key issue addressed in this report is health equity, rooted in centuries of injustice that will take substantive societal change to solve.

So now what???

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence and the Colorado Hospital Association are co-leads of the Colorado Action Coalition (COAC). We are tasked with leading the charge to implement the Future of Nursing Recommendations in Colorado. Implementing the Recommendations will take a village. We need YOUR HELP!

Volunteer – we need committee participants from both nursing and other healthcare providers AND others from outside of healthcare to help champion this work within the state.
Attend meetings – we will scheduling meetings to work on the implementation plans.
